As a volunteer who serves children, youth, or vulnerable adults at St. Michael Parish, it is necessary that you fulfill the archdiocesan safe environment requirements set forth by the U.S. Catholic Bishop’s Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. This applies to volunteers such as Catechists, Youth Ministry volunteers and transporters, Outreach ministers and transporters, Family Promise hosts, Nursery ministers, Men serving in the prison ministry, Vacation Bible School ministers, and some Slippery Gulch leaders. This list is not all inclusive and new ministries evolve which may be included.
The two requirements are: 1) a background check prior to beginning ministry and every five years as long as serving 2) on-line safe environment training prior to beginning ministry and every two years as long as serving.
