MINISTRY TO THE HOMEBOUND: Be trained to bring the Holy Eucharist to and to care for our injured and ill brethren who cannot join us for the Sunday Mass. Contact the liturgical minister @ 745-3239
PARENTS WITH NEWBORNS MEAL MINISTRY: Volunteer to make meals for parish families who have recently welcomed new babies. Most meal scheduling and logistics are done through e-mail to allow volunteers time to plan. Usually volunteers sign-up for only 1-2 meals during a 1-2 month time frame. Come, support life by providing help to our new parents during the exhausting post-partum period. Contact: Dani Witczak @ 717-968-8151 / [email protected].
PARISH NURSING: Healthcare is a sacred ministry as it deals directly with human life. Parish nurses are registered nurses who help bridge the gaps in our healthcare system. They visit homebound persons and especially those who have been hospitalized and sent home; they can help with instruction and care. They also help integrate faith with caring and healing, provide health education, health screening, counseling and referrals, develop support groups, and coordinate other health ministry volunteers. Parish nurses also do monthly blood pressures in the wintertime after Sunday Masses. Contact: Marcia Watson @ (907) 376-2147 or Judy Lewis @ (907) 745-5983.
TRANSPORTATION: Volunteers help some of our parishioners who require help getting to Sunday Mass, a doctor’s appointment or elsewhere. Contact the parish secretary @ (907) 745-3229.

The remaining 40% is distributed to local charities and ministries through a grant process. Come and serve! Contact: Jack Williamson @ (907) 745-4215.

Each fall, normally during the month of November, a tree is placed in the foyer with tags that include the gender and ages of children from families in need. Parishioners take a tag and buy an item listed, wrap it, and place it under the tree to be delivered to that family for Christmas. Contact: Barbara Gerard @ (907) 745-3369.
For more than 50 years at the Alaska State Fair, the parish has opened the doors of Slippery Gulch and members of the parish donate countless hours of their time and efforts to host fairgoers at this food booth that serves hamburgers, hotdogs, soda and famous hand-baked pies. It is one of the few family-friendly food vendors at the fair where people can sit down, sheltered from the rain and wind, and enjoy a meal together. It is completely run by volunteers from the parish, but some with expertise in the restaurant business are highly valued and needed to serve in special leadership positions each year. Contact: the Parish Office @ (907) 745-3229.
Let us know what you would like to do! Perhaps others will want to join. Contact our parish office at (907) 745-3229 or at [email protected].
